A school supplies fair has opened in the city of al-Radisiyya in Aswan, southern Egypt, offering discounts of up to 40 percent on items including schoolbags, uniforms, shoes and stationery ahead of the new academic year.
The fair is part of efforts by Aswan's provincial government to expand markets and retail outlets selling essential goods and school supplies at reduced prices. Officials said the initiative aims to support families as demand for school materials increases before classes begin.
Ala al-Din Mamduh, head of the local administration for al-Radisiyya, oversaw the fair's organization, which was set up in cooperation with the Future for Community Development association. He emphasized the availability of various school supplies and urged shoppers to take advantage of the discounts on display products.
