Egypt's General Authority for Meteorology warned of strong winds and rough seas affecting seven Mediterranean beaches: Marsa Matrouh, Al-Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, and Port Said. The authority said waves would reach heights between 1.5 and 2.25 meters in these areas.

The authority urged swimmers and beachgoers on all seven beaches to observe safety guidelines to protect themselves. It did not specify whether swimming would be permitted or restricted.

Conditions across northern Egypt through Cairo were expected to be hot and humid today, with temperatures in Cairo forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius, the authority said. Southern regions were forecast to experience severe heat.

Strong winds are expected across most of the country this evening, which the authority said would cool conditions in some exposed areas. Winds in southern regions and parts of the Red Sea governorate were expected at times to stir up sand and dust intermittently.
