Mohamed Ali Fahim, head of Egypt's climate information center at the agriculture ministry, said the final days of Mesra—the last month of the ancient Egyptian agricultural calendar—would continue to show typical summer weather patterns despite the approaching astronomical end of summer. Weather conditions during this period may be unstable, marked by rising temperatures, active winds, and increased humidity, according to Fahim.

Saturday represents one of the last days of Mesra in the ancient Egyptian agricultural calendar, which marked the end of the old farming year before the start of Tout and the new agricultural year. Fahim noted that recent days have seen persistent heat and humidity across most areas, with morning mist and occasional wind activity.

The entrance of September does not necessarily mean summer weather conditions will end immediately, according to Fahim, as heat and humidity effects continue during the transitional period between summer and autumn. Farmers should not rely solely on calendar dates when scheduling agricultural operations, the climate center head said.

According to a statement from Egypt's meteorological authority, high temperatures today are expected to reach approximately 35 degrees Celsius in greater Cairo, 34 degrees on the western coasts, 32 degrees on the eastern coasts, and 37 degrees in Upper Egypt's northern region. Fahim emphasized the importance of treating this period as a transitional phase in atmospheric conditions, particularly for farmers.
