Egypt's state railway authority published on Saturday a complete operating schedule for trains running between Cairo, Aswan, and intermediate stations including Minya and Asyut. The timetable is designed to facilitate travel for citizens and provide regular, comfortable transport connections between Upper Egypt, the Greater Cairo area, Alexandria, and Port Said.
The fleet comprises multiple train classes: Talongo express trains, VIP service, sleeper cars, air-conditioned coaches, and dynamically ventilated cars. The first departure from Cairo on Saturday leaves at 12:05 a.m., with trains running at regular intervals throughout the day.
Morning services include VIP and air-conditioned trains departing between 5:20 a.m. and 10:35 a.m., with arrival times in Aswan ranging from 11:20 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. depending on the service class and number of stops. Afternoon departures run between 12:00 p.m. and 6:20 p.m., with evening trains continuing until after midnight.
The schedule lists 31 daily services in each direction, each with specific departure times from Cairo and arrival times at major stops along the route. Some trains originate from Alexandria or Port Said, while others begin in Cairo, with times adjusted accordingly for their longer routes.
