Egypt is targeting one million Chinese tourist arrivals per year, according to Haitham Arafa, a board member of the Egyptian Travel Agents Association. The goal represents a sharp increase from the approximately 360,000 Chinese tourists who visited Egypt in 2025.

Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Egypt strengthened the basis for expanding cooperation in tourism and aviation between the two countries, Arafa said. The Egyptian Travel Agents Association cited the visit as an opportunity to build on tourism ties.
