Official Iranian news agencies reported explosions near Kharg Island, a major fuel hub, on Saturday. The strikes appeared to target an oil tanker in the area, the agencies said. However, they also reported that no smoke could be seen rising from the facility.

Neither the United States nor the Iranian government provided official comment on the reported strikes. The incident came after a week-long lull in fighting between the two sides.

Hostilities between Iran and the United States resumed last Sunday with American strikes on Iranian targets. The conflict has now extended into its seventh month.
