British producer Andy Stott has released "Late Loop," his first album in five years. The record will come out October 30 via Modern Love, according to a press release.
For the album, Stott limited his production tools to a delay unit, working without basslines, reverb, or other effects. He designed the album to be more song-led than his previous work, which had evolved from experimental drone into what the press release described as "something like brass band concrète."
Two vocalists feature on every track: Alison Skidmore and Elaine Howley. Howley sings on "Something in Mind," which has a video by Kitty Handley, and appears on four other tracks.
The album follows "Never the Right Time," Stott's previous release. The track list includes "Cold Welcome," "Sunday Fast," "2024-2," "The Hardest Thing," "Mirror Signal," and "Songbird."
