Salla, a Saudi e-commerce platform, has acquired Paylink, a domestic fintech company specializing in payment solutions licensed by the Saudi Central Bank. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Paylink, founded in 2017 by Ammar AlTwaijri and Abdulelah Alsayegh, provides electronic payment infrastructure for merchants and businesses. The acquisition integrates Paylink's payments systems into Salla's platform for merchants managing sales online and in physical locations.
Salla said it plans to expand point-of-sale payment offerings, including SoftPOS technology that allows merchants to accept payments on mobile devices. The company also said Paylink's infrastructure will enable support for international payments, multiple currencies and various payment methods.
Nawaf Hariri, Salla's founder and chief executive, said the acquisition reflects the company's goal of building an integrated ecosystem that helps merchants reduce complexity and grow their businesses. He said financial services represent a natural extension of Salla's commerce platform.
