At least one person died and 25 others were injured in a pile-up on the Djebahia descent of Algeria's A2 East-West Highway, according to reports. The collision involved a bus, four heavy-goods vehicles, and two cars on a section of the highway near Bouira that is among the most dangerous in Algeria.

The A2 east-west corridor has been the site of repeated fatal crashes on the Djebahia descent, a notably treacherous section of the route.
