Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has excluded Brazilian striker Richarlison from the club's 25-man Premier League squad, signaling the player's likely departure. Richarlison, 29, has been the subject of two rejected bids from Trabzonspor, the Turkish Super Lig club. De Zerbi told Richarlison earlier this week of the decision.
Trabzonspor has offered £15 million and £20 million for the player, with the Turkish transfer window closing Friday evening. The club is expected to submit a higher bid before the deadline, according to reports.
Richarlison was Tottenham's top scorer last season with 12 goals and started the club's opening match of the new campaign, a 3-0 loss to Brentford on August 19. He was omitted from Tottenham's subsequent 2-0 loss to Newcastle United on Saturday. "I don't know," De Zerbi said when asked about Richarlison's future after that match. "He said too many times he wants to leave."
The player was given permission to negotiate with Everton, his former club, earlier this month but talks broke down before the Premier League transfer window closed on Tuesday. De Zerbi also said Richarlison has already agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor, with some reports suggesting the move would triple his salary.
Richarlison moved to Tottenham from Everton in July 2022 for a fee worth up to £60 million including add-ons.
